if you want to understand just do a simple experiment get inside of a car and get it moving to 80 mph and then hold a pencil in the air then let it go the back window won't hit the pencil because you're going so fast because the car is moving and everything inside it is moving the air is moving air has mass so the air is moving and anything around it is moving
