@budgetbylauren: I’m currently using Wealthfront but will be transition banks soon since FinTech is actively using loopholes against FDIC insurance. Will make a video on it when I make the switch. #sinkingfunds #savings

I do it for 6 month insurance renewal & year car sticker buckets. On the long term, I have 6 month emergency fund. Glad I have since I’m going have to start dipping into it next month unless find a job.

So does all of that sit in a savings account? You don’t touch it unless you need to pull some out? Curious. I need to do this.

I am a money hoarder and I really struggle with sinking funds. It doesn’t feel any easier to spend money on fun things sinking funds or not. We do one savings to have a high yield but I’m starting to think we need to track expenses at minimum now that I am freelance. Do you have a separate card or account for business expenses?

I recommend them to everyone. Even if you are just starting out, it’s important. It may take a while to get them going but even if you only have $50 in a fund and the cost was $100, you still had some of the money put aside.

I don’t have any budgets built yet since it’s harder to do on SSDI but I finally included my banks monthly fee into my monthly bills to stop overdrafting 😂
