Emma Marie :
contracted herpes after being intimate with my new boyfriend for the first time. Before we became intimate, he never told me that he was living with the virus, so I had no idea I was at risk. A few days later, I became extremely sick and experienced painful symptoms that lasted for about two weeks. It was one of the hardest experiences I’ve ever gone through. When I confronted him, he admitted that he had known about his diagnosis for years but chose not to tell me. I felt completely betrayed because I believe I deserved the opportunity to make an informed decision about my own health. If he had been honest, I could have asked questions, taken precautions, or decided whether I was comfortable with the risk. I ended the relationship because trust and honesty are very important to me. He kept telling me that I was overreacting because herpes is common, but for me, the issue was never simply the diagnosis—it was the fact that he knew and chose not to tell me. I’m grateful to say that I’m doing much better now and have found a treatment that has helped me tremendously. 🙏 @DR Andrew 🥰
