REMEMBERING 9/11 🕊️ I saved the newspapers. 📰 These are not just old newspaper covers. They are part of the historical record of September 11, 2001—the headlines, the photographs, the stories, the heroes, the loss, and the aftermath. I kept them because history matters. And for me, 9/11 is personal. While I was in New York during 9/11, I began documenting what was happening at Ground Zero and capturing lived experiences in real time, including the perspectives of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. That experience became my documentary, 9/11 Fear in Silence: The Forgotten Underdogs. More than two decades later, I’m still preserving these stories and making sure those voices are not forgotten.
