@garybrecka: Vitamin D could be playing a bigger role in your oral health than you realize. It helps your body absorb calcium and supports the mineralization that keeps your teeth strong. When vitamin D and mineral levels are inadequate, maintaining healthy enamel can become more difficult. Research has also explored the relationship between vitamin D status and periodontal health, giving us another reason to look at oral health as part of whole-body health. Your teeth don’t exist in isolation. What’s happening inside your body matters too.
I’m 27 and struggled to lose weight for years despite dieting and going to the gym. 3 months ago, bloodwork showed I had a severe vitamin D deficiency, so I started taking vitamin D3 + K2 daily. I also later found out I’m insulin resistant, while my thyroid and other tests are normal. Since starting vitamin D, I’ve lost noticeable weight even though I haven't changed anything else than getting Vitamin D supplement. Could correcting a severe vitamin D deficiency have helped my body lose weight, especially with insulin resistance?
