@kelsey.affiliate: The long way home after work is sometimes was one of the best parts of the day. Nobody knows you’re in the car unless you announce it. Nobody can hand you something to do through the window. I used to take the shortest way home from the dentist office every time. It would shave a whopping 5 minutes off and I’d still be stuck in the same mindset I had at work. Everyone got that version of me all day already. I learned to take the longer way home. The backroads that had no stop lights and no streetlights so it was pitch black in the winter. Windows down even in the dark (Wind therapy is the best kind). I’d find the same song I was loving at the time and play it as loud as I could on repeat because no one could complain. That’s the slow life tax. You pay it in the minutes that some people think is ‘wasted time’ from the outside looking in. Why would you go the route that’s an extra 5-10 minutes? Or whatever the backroads look like. Except when I walk in the door I’m a way happier person than the one who was at work. I off loaded all the stress from the day. You should try it. 🤍 #slowlifetax #thelongwayhome #slowliving
