Day 253 of reading the Bible in a year 📖✨ Ezekiel 43–45 continues the vision of the restored temple, but the focus shifts to something even more significant: the return of God’s glory and the importance of holiness. In Ezekiel 43, Ezekiel sees the glory of God coming from the east and entering the temple. This is especially powerful because earlier in the book, Ezekiel had witnessed God’s glory departing from Jerusalem because of the people’s rebellion. Now, in this vision of restoration, God’s presence returns. “And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east.” — Ezekiel 43:2 God tells Ezekiel that this is the place where He will dwell among His people. The people are called to recognize the holiness of God’s presence and to turn away from the things that defiled it. Ezekiel 44 continues with instructions concerning those who serve at the temple. The emphasis on what is holy and what is common reminds me that being close to God should never be treated casually. Then Ezekiel 45 gives instructions concerning the holy portion of the land, offerings, and responsibilities of the prince and the people. There is an emphasis on justice, honest measurements, and fairness. “Ye shall have just balances, and a just ephah, and a just bath.” — Ezekiel 45:10 That stood out to me because holiness isn’t only about what happens in a place of worship. It also affects how we treat people in everyday life. God cares about integrity. He cares about fairness. He cares about whether we’re honest in our dealings with others. After all the judgment we’ve read about in Ezekiel, these chapters show something beautiful: God’s desire was not simply to destroy His people. He wanted to restore His presence among them and teach them how to live differently. When God restores, He also calls us to live with holiness, integrity, and reverence for His presence. 🙏🏽❤️ If you’re reading along, what stood out to you most in Ezekiel 43–45? 📖✨ #BibleInAYear #Ezekiel #Ezekiel43 #Ezekiel44 #Ezekiel45
