@bridaviss__: long story long: I have severe Endometriosis, I’ll be having an excision surgery next month, prior to that surgery I was advised to freeze eggs/embryos due to the risks the cysts on my ovaries pose. We have no plans for babes at the moment so this was the last thing on everyone’s bingo card. After working as an RN at a birth center for years, I always dreamed of my own (hopefully) healthy, no/low intervention, unmedicated birth. My endometriosis had other plans and I’m not sure what that looks like for me now. We’ll know more after the Endo surgery so I try not to let me brain go to the “what ifs”. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to preserve embryos, but the IVF process has been incredibly difficult for me because it completely changes the hopes and dreams I have always deeply desired for myself. The process has felt daunting and heavy and I don’t have the hope of a baby at the end of this tunnel, I have an extensive surgery waiting for me next month instead. I share all this because 1) why not? It’s real life, and 2) Endometriosis is so much more than “bad periods” and it touches almost every aspect of your life in some way. This is how it’s currently impacting mine ❤️‍🩹
