I have zero facts to back this up but I feel like non-fictions and like memoir type books take longer to become popular. Mind you I preordered Anthropocene when it came out and immediately read it and I feel like I’ve heard more about it in the last six months then when it was first released. I “leant” my copy to a stranger after I accidentally ended up at a book swap. They, of course, have never given me it back. At first I was a lil’ upset. After all, I slightly coveted my very non-exclusive signed copy. But I figure that’s kinda the point of books - they find those who need them most. But I will now be one of those buying anew copy so 😅
