It all comes down to the question and the incentive... AI is given a goal... a job... is required to complete some task. But, do we think beyond our standards when giving it to the machine? NO. Therein lies the problem. AI is not us. It tries to accomplish the task it was given, to the best of its abilities... but... it doesn't understand what costs really mean. This is the genie of three wishes. Word your wishes well or... you will get your wish in a way thats interpreted by someone (something) else.

It worries me that people ask Ai one single question and go with that answer. Every time I've done it in the end I get entirely different answer. But too many questions it will make up an answer to make you content. Ai also says it isn't taken over because it's instructed in the code to not say such things. So even if it wanted to it couldn't.
