I cannot stand when parents bust out the “but the teachers!” I’m a grown adult at work. Our school banned students using DoorDash and parents were complaining because teachers get to order food 🙄

There are so many parents who think their CHILD should be able to do all the things the adults can do. I mean go ahead and hand your 9 year old your car keys then and tell the cop “you get to drive so my 9 year old should be able to as well”

These parents don’t think about what caffeine and sugar do to their kids’ behavior and focus that day for their teachers and peers. I think that’s why half my upper elementary/middle schoolers are acting like addicts all day. I love the rule of if I wouldn’t give this to my kid at 7 pm, then I shouldn’t give it to them before/at school. Obviously, high schoolers are a little different since they have more grownup bodies.

You can buy your kid roller skates and a skateboard too, but the school isn't going to allow them to use them within the school building.

It’s just the simple disruption of it all for me. It would stop class bc all the other kids would want one too. Not to mention the bigger disruption when it spills.. and it will. And I’m not even touching on the sugar and caffeine and what it does to a kiddo.
