We went to my great uncles funeral and both of his sons were telling the best funny stories about him. One of the nuns helping out almost fell out of her seat laughing.

for my husband's grandmother's funeral, we all wore Hawaiian print and bright colors and sang some of her favorite ridiculous songs instead of the typical funeral hymns. the family loved it, the pastor all thought we were crazy. and that's just how she would have wanted it.

I have pictures from my own mom’s funeral luncheon smiling and goofing off with my friends because you can’t just be sad. That’s not how grief works. It’s everything all at once and that’s what makes it so horrible
