True. Also, learning to trust yourself and cultivating that trust and relationship with yourself is important. Because you are the one who ultimately chooses the other person. We tend to blame others for lying, cheating, etc. But if you continue to choose or "attract" the same type of person, it's more about you than about them. 🙏

I had a community college summer school sociology prof spend an entire day's worth of class talking about love. he was weird but 100% right. romantic partnership love needs 5 things - communication, understanding, respect, equity, and trust. if any of those are missing it may be a FORM of love, but it will not be a healthy adult reciprocal relationship. he's spot on and I can easily point out which one is missing in relationships I see that are struggling

God says you’re not meant to trust anybody, you’re meant to love them is all. and put your faith in the lord. i also don’t disagree with you, i can’t get fully aroused without trust.. but i’ll sit with that until holy matrimony and a covenant is made to God & that’s when i’ll unclench & allow myself to enjoy. you should still prioritize trusting and loving yourself more than another human.. and that should help.

But with every time their vulnerability is crushed they put more armor on and some have this happen over and over, i don’t blame them for not being able to take it all off to love fully but how can they trust it. I am lucky to have found a love like this but after realizing genuine love needs this aspect i feel almost worse for people who don’t have it in them anymore to keep having to disengage their protection
