ASK THE SURGEON FOR A LONGER MESH! My husband had to have the surgery redone 2 years after because the hernia broke through the mesh. The 2nd time around they put in a longer mesh so it wouldnt break through again. He does a lot of heavy lifting for his job.

Probably only 6 weeks out of the gym. But always follow the surgeons opinion. I had some repairs and it was 6 weeks for me before I could exercise.

Better to have it done next week, less time to think about and mess uo your mental health. This maybe a small step back in your weight loss, walking about after surgery is better then sitting down and doing nothing

Dude, I had 5 hernia surgeries. I was very overweight and ended up losing 100 lbs and had one last surgery that was abdominal reconstruction. You will feel so much better but the recovery is no joke. You will be hurting for a day or two. Good Luck!
