Never in my life did I think we would come across a jacket that is as thin as a normal hoodie but with a warmth rating down to 10°F?!? but @OROS has proved us wrong!! #orospartner When we first heard about OROS jackets, I had never heard of aerogel before, but Sentry immediately knew what it was! Aerogel is an extremely lightweight, highly insulating material that’s actually been used by NASA for things like insulating spacecraft and protecting equipment from extreme temperatures. Sentry told me that the problem with traditional aerogel is that it can be very brittle and hard to use in something flexible like clothing, which is why he had never actually seen it done before. So when OROS reached out and shared how they are using aerogel technology for their jackets, we were extremely intrigued! They have both a men’s (Atmos) and women’s version (Astra) and so far we have been loving how easy they are to move in compared to a bulky jacket!! They’re super comfortable and I am personally obsessed with the purple in the Astra (& the kangaroo pocket!!!)!! I can’t wait to see how they do on freezing Tahoe mornings because how nice would it be to just throw a hoodie on and head out the door?!
