@rickyflicks.mp4: Matt Reeves just locked in his future at Warner Bros, and it is a good moment to look back at how he got here. The director and his 6th & Idaho company have renewed their overall television deal with Warner Bros. Television, the partnership that started in 2020 and produced The Penguin. To mark it, here are his five best films as a director: Cloverfield, Let Me In, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, War for the Planet of the Apes, and The Batman, a run that moves from found-footage horror to two of the best blockbuster sequels of the last decade to a rain-soaked detective noir. One detail worth noticing: this is a television deal, not a new Batman announcement. It keeps Reeves developing shows at Warner Bros, but on its own it does not green-light another Gotham series or confirm a Penguin season 2, even if it makes both more likely. Where does The Batman land for you on this list, number one or overrated? #MattReeves #TheBatman #PlanetOfTheApes #WarnerBros #ThePenguin
