@jakexploring: In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, the NYPD set up a temporary headquarters inside the Burger King at 106 Liberty Street, just one block from Ground Zero. The building survived the collapse of the Twin Towers and remained structurally intact, giving officers a nearby location to coordinate search and rescue efforts, communications, and other operations. The Burger King had basic utilities like power and water, which helped officers operate from the location following the attacks.
