@and_mayhem_ensued_: Andrew Garfield’s new movie the uprising is an occasionally true movie that really spoke to me. #TheUprising #MovieReview #History #AndrewGarfield. #Reaction
The 14th century is my favorite medieval history! I was so excited to hear about this movie but the lack of color def bummed me out

I got yelled at for spoiling the end of Richard II before. 😭 like “what do you mean Richard dies?” “…he was a real king. Even if he didn’t die at the end of the play, he’d be dead by now.”

why do you think people of all classes weren't clean in the middle ages? I'm pretty sure the dirt aspect has been debunked by historians in the present day. every historian i follow is always talking about less dirt and more color in these movies

Historical Dramas these days tend to lean more into the "drama" than the accuracy but somtimes that can be used to get people interested in History. People always need to support documentary film makers and our local museums teaching the public about all sorts of things. There was recently a poll that Americans trust museums and public libraries more than scientists and the government which is both concerning but hopeful because we need to support museums but real museums not Ripleys

I’m really glad it spoke to you! I wish it had spoken to me as much as I wanted it to. I would LOVE a film that inspires me to eat the rich, but this one was not it for me, tragically. 😭 but I’m glad it’s finding its audience!

I think they wanted to lean into the Robin Hood aspect but after the Hugh Jackman Robin Hood they wanted to distance themselves from it. 👀 twin films, different studios?!

Not the short description of this history being completely accurate to today down to the punctuation. But they met blade with blade. What are we supposed to meet their drones with?

I’ve heard this film is really good and I heard an interview with the author who was a consultant on this film and it is a fascinating piece of history that is very timely. Honestly, the only thing that doesn’t work for me is that they slapped Robin Hood on it this would’ve been significantly after Robin Hood legends are set doesn’t it doesn’t really have anything to do with Robin Hood and I don’t know why they put that on there except that the marketing team doesn’t really believe in it which is sad because we need more quality historical fiction film films but I digress
