If you’re the one who doesn’t want to get married while he does, that alone can be a big enough issue for him to need some space to seriously think about what he wants. He could genuinely be happy in the relationship and still decide to leave because marriage is important to him and your long term goals don’t align. That being said, asking for two weeks of space is a pretty significant amount of time, especially without clear communication about what that actually means. And yes, it’s possible he could be seeing someone else, even if you don’t like hearing that possibility. The reason so many women are suggesting cheating isn’t simply because they want to assume the worst, it’s because the sudden request for a two week relationship “pause” is a major red flag.
