@kellyrenee077: 25 years ago today, I was 24 years old, serving in the Army, married to another service member, and pregnant with my first child. We had just returned from a year-long tour in South Korea and arrived at Fort Lewis, Washington. We were staying in temporary housing when we were woken by calls from loved ones. We turned on the TV and watched a day unfold that none of us would ever forget. Because we were both active duty, there were so many unknowns. Where would we have to go? What was going to happen next? In a matter of hours, the world felt different, and so did what it meant to serve.
