My anesthesiologist came in and said “well you’re either going to hate me or love me, but I’m about to get you so drunk.” I said “as long as I don’t throw up.” And he said “if you do, that’s not my problem.” Then he hit me with the meds, instantly woozy and I told him I loved him. He chuckled and said “good girl. That’s what I like to hear.” 😂😂

I had to get a menisectomy on my knee.. I was watching them do it.. i yelled "this is soo cool" and i kept asking questions.. the surgeon turned his head to the person next to him and said "you're a med student, its not good when the patient asks more and better questions than you" and suddenly I was out..

Natural red head here. Anesthesiologist didn't believe it was natural. Woke up during surgery didn't feel anything but with a tube down your throat you can't speak. Him and I locked eyes. I gave him a wink. "Well shit look at that" is all I heard and out again lol

As a redhead, I can attest to these types of issues. So I always make it really clear when I schedule anything that will require sedation or anesthesia.

My anesthesiologist looked at me and asked “hey you seem a little anxious, want another margarita?” I said “yes please”, he smiled said “I got you.” and then boom…I was gone

I woke up during my surgery when I was a kid and the room Panicked. it was a double gromet and tonsil surgery. I told the nurse she was pretty and she said I was pretty awake. then I was asleep again. when I woke up I asked to see the pretty nurse. she came in to give me my ice cream and told my mom I looked blonde currently (4 yrs old) but I'd be ginger later. she was correct.

The same oral surgeon who removed my wisdom teeth also removed my mom's decades ago. When I was waking up I told him he looked like a ken doll. I remember him saying something about 'what a weird family'. Turns out, when my mom was waking up, she told him he was the 'ken to her barbie'. No DNA test needed lmao.

My favorite story is when I had to have my gallbladder removed and I had no one with me as I was unmarried and both of my parents where deceased and the anesthesiologist asked me why I was crying and I told him that I scared and that I was alone and he told me he wouldn’t leave me alone until I fully aware of my surroundings. Sure enough when I came out from the surgery he was sitting in the chair next to the bed and he was like I told you I wouldn’t leave you alone. I still to this day praise this young man and his heart for staying with a scared girl

When my new dentist saw I was a redhead he said “ah, yes. I’ve encountered your kind before. You’re in good hands”. He always gives me extra numbing and about an hour later I’m not longer numb… my fiancé stays numb all day, he has black/brown hair.

Redhead here. For my 2nd c-section I requested a pre-op call with anesthesiologists. First thing the Dr says is "this is not normal, people don't do pre-op calls" I say "I'm a redhead" she says "thank you for calling ahead. Not something we like to find out on the day." 😅 I ended up getting a spinal block and epidural combo to make sure I couldn't feel anything. 😅

I remember dreaming that I rabbit kicked the anesthesiologist across the room. When I woke up after surgery, Dr came in, picked up my chart and said, “ah, I see you’ve added ‘combative under sedation’ to your résumé.”😳😂
