My anesthesiologist bet me 5$ that I wouldn’t even remember his name after I was out. I woke up mid surgery, looked at him half dead, and whispered “steeeeeve”. All I heard was “fuck sakes” and I was out again 😂 he paid up afterwards lol

Woke up during my surgery asked is my very sedative state “how are we doing doc” he panic and screamed “holy fk” then immediately called another nurse to come in with and crash cart snd told her to watch my heart monitor. I passed out once again and then later get moved back to recovery where I then discovered I didn’t just wake up I resurrected. Turns out I flatlined during operation and then came back with “how are we doing doc”

They intentionally woke me up during my knee replacement because I had apparently locked my leg in a weird way all i heard was “hey bud you mind relaxing that leg” i dropped my leg then all i heard was “thanks buddy, goodnight”

Had a cyst removed. According to the doc, I woke up in the middle of it and said “ladies and gentlemen, it appears I’m awake.” The response, I was told later, was “quite sorry sir.” Then I was back out.

As a redhead, I can attest to these types of issues. So I always make it really clear when I schedule anything that will require sedation or anesthesia.

I'm a natural redhead I've had 2 spinal surgeries. During the 1st I woke in the middle of it, chuckled at something the doc said, and heard the anesthesiologist grumble "Goddammit" before I went back out. The 2nd time I woke up and started snapping my fingers to Queens "Under Pressure" because it was playing in the OR. They stopped the song and I said "Hey I was listening to that." I heard hysterical laughing then I woke up in recovery.

I woke up twice during eye surgery. I asked if I could watch them do the surgery with my good eye. the surgeon said "why the hell are you awake?" when I woke up the second time I said "hey, its me again" the surgeon just said "Jesus christ, hit her again" lol to be fair my 6 hour surgery turned into a 10 hour surgery

The same oral surgeon who removed my wisdom teeth also removed my mom's decades ago. When I was waking up I told him he looked like a ken doll. I remember him saying something about 'what a weird family'. Turns out, when my mom was waking up, she told him he was the 'ken to her barbie'. No DNA test needed lmao.

Both my husband and I have redhead genes. I woke up half way into my wisdom teeth extraction and the nurse went “ope she’s awake!” and they pushed more thru my iv. My husband had surgery and woke up within 5 minutes of the reversal, like completely coherent in the OR 😅

My favorite story is when I had to have my gallbladder removed and I had no one with me as I was unmarried and both of my parents where deceased and the anesthesiologist asked me why I was crying and I told him that I scared and that I was alone and he told me he wouldn’t leave me alone until I fully aware of my surroundings. Sure enough when I came out from the surgery he was sitting in the chair next to the bed and he was like I told you I wouldn’t leave you alone. I still to this day praise this young man and his heart for staying with a scared girl

Natural red head here. Anesthesiologist didn't believe it was natural. Woke up during surgery didn't feel anything but with a tube down your throat you can't speak. Him and I locked eyes. I gave him a wink. "Well shit look at that" is all I heard and out again lol

I had to get a menisectomy on my knee.. I was watching them do it.. i yelled "this is soo cool" and i kept asking questions.. the surgeon turned his head to the person next to him and said "you're a med student, its not good when the patient asks more and better questions than you" and suddenly I was out..

I remember dreaming that I rabbit kicked the anesthesiologist across the room. When I woke up after surgery, Dr came in, picked up my chart and said, “ah, I see you’ve added ‘combative under sedation’ to your résumé.”😳😂

Before I knocked out.... I told my anesthesiologist "Ya need to sell this shit on the street"... All I remember is hearing laughing and someone said it is sold on the street [Laugh approved]
