Update: Three Confirmed Fatalities in Chatsworth News Helicopter Crash A news helicopter crashed Tuesday evening in Chatsworth while providing aerial coverage of a deadly Metro bus collision, resulting in three fatalities and one person hospitalized, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The aircraft went down just before 7 p.m. in a parking lot between two commercial buildings in the 9100 block of North Mason Avenue. It struck shipping containers and vehicles, sparking a fire that damaged four automobiles and two storage containers. Fifty-six firefighters responded and fully extinguished the blaze. No structures were affected. LAFD officials confirmed three people were pronounced deceased at the scene, with a fourth patient transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. Multiple reports indicate that two of those killed were occupants of the helicopter, while the third was a person on the ground in the parking lot. The helicopter has not been publicly identified , many witnesses report watching a Live footage belonging to NBC Los Angeles (KNBC). It was among several news aircraft covering an earlier SUV-Metro bus crash nearby that left two people dead and six others transported to local hospitals. The cause of the helicopter crash remains under investigation by the NTSB, FAA, and LAPD. Identities of the victims have not been released. Our thoughts are with the families, colleagues, and first responders involved in this tragic incident. This is a developing story.
