The engine remains fixed to specialized test equipment while its exhaust is routed away from the test cell. A dynamometer allows engineers to apply controlled loads while precisely measuring parameters such as power, torque, temperatures, pressures, and engine speed. Running the engine across different operating conditions also helps expose potential reliability problems and allows engineers to evaluate how components behave under the enormous mechanical and thermal stresses created at extremely high RPM.
