I think that there’s two layers to this. Cause in-universe they’re two independent entities sharing a body(and the emotional implications of that). But narratively Yoru definitely works as Asa’s “shadow self”. Which is what made their relationship so juicy, specially the final stretch, where Asa started to see Yoru with just absolutely fear.

I like how yoru called out asas more deeper emotions/thoughts that she tried to block out, like how your told asa that she didnt feel bad for killing bucky she was feeling bad becuase she was seen by her whole class killing bucky.

well imo they are separate characters until the very end lol. They can somewhat influence each other (although i see more yoru influenced by asa than the other way around) i think there could have been a twist that they're the same person but it never actually got there Sucks that fujimoto didn't explore their dynamic more You can view them as one for the sake of analysis but the story isn't supporting that enough ¡¡AND YORU DID GET IN THE WAY!! god p2 was so frustrating, i can't believe asa was shelved for half of it

I 100% think the war devil is always two halves making a whole cuz a devil who’s nerfed by needing to feel guilt to make powerful weapons wouldn’t make sense if she only had a devil side. ntm war is an entirely man made phenomenon like it makes sense she would have a “human” aspect

i def see it as a mix, i think yoru uses all the raw thoughts and emotions that asa keeps in her brain and brings them to life without any type of filter which causes for situations where actions that asa truly doesn’t want to create but maybe though of become true through yorus compulsively evil behavior. but although maybe asa’s thoughts they are still yorus own true actions

I really enjoyed part two more than part one because of asa and yoru ngl. But I think fujimoto did also kinda intend for us to see them as not two completely separate entities because of the one dialogue in the aging devil arc where yoru asks “am i still pretty” even though it’s technically not her face, it’s asa’s. It shows how she may look at asa and think “asa is me” but asa may look at yoru and say the same thing
