what grinds my gears is when people run/walk on the bike lane. sometimes there's a car coming from the back which I have to move from the bike lane to the main road

it happened to me...i was riding down this road and a car had pulled over,right by the time i got next to it..the driver abruptly opened his door,.my handle bars missed it by inches

I measured my open door (Subaru Crosstrek) and it was about 3 ft when opened. I’d leave a minimum of 4 feet from parked cars.

I used to ride in very urban areas, but once I moved into the city I learned very quickly that there are different things I never had to worry about before moving there, my brakes would last forever in urban areas but now I go through them so much faster having to stop for everybody all the time, big adjustment for sure

Been there and done that. Broke my helmet and got a mild concussion. Black and blue shoulder too. It’s a rough lesson. It didn’t stop me from riding though.
