But in the winter, this is a fun way to get his mind and body working together! (3) “Where did you get this board?” I got it on Amazon. If you search “dog scratch board”, lots of options should come up. (4) “Why are you teaching your dog to scratch, he’s going to ruin your house now!” Dachshunds are bred to dig. They are tunneling dogs, so it’s in their blood. Giving him a specific outlet to exercise this instinct instead of letting him resort to scratching around the house is exactly what should be done. — This is a really good option for keeping your dog’s nails nice and short if (1) they like digging, (2) they are treat-motivated and (3) you want to observe extreme cuteness!
