Price is always the factor in the automotive business. The whole bs I have my own parts doesn't fly with me. I tell them go somewhere else. The truck side of the business most times they say just fix it so I can get back on the road

They told me a car was half the price we were selling it for I said I would suggest going to check it out and compare the cars once you have a better idea why that car is that low. I also said it might be cheaper bc it’s a salvage title, cash price, just to bring people in, higher mileage, engine or turbo is going out, car doesn’t run. I think there was no other car she was just trying to see if I lowered the price and tried to negotiate for an hour when she said the other car was down the street😬

Generally they are just trying to get you to at least match it it or beat it by a little for some simple reason like you're closer or something.

Owned a shop for 30 years and they say so and so said they would do it for half that. My reply is that sounds like a great deal you should do that. But bingo they stay just wanting to lowball you. Most of time they are referring to some guy that works off his patio 😅

Smarter than most :
I do not ask or argue when they say I can get it do cheaper somewhere else. I simply say to them have a nice day. To many try to ask and argue with them. Just stop with the loser customers and move on to the next customer.

Price is the only factor if youre broke. Id rather spend more at a place where they are honest and their values and morals align with mine. Service over price any day
