I dont think this is exclusive to rich people. And honestly in teen years that when dating more then one person make the most sense. Obviously not being intimate with more then one person but have fun, learn what you like about different people and not just one person. Its probably why people who get married young don't work out, because they marry someone without having learned that there are other things they like or want from a partner and married the first person they dated.
