Your words describe the very brevity of my brain. My husband has seen my deterioration over the years and my monthly episodes. I completed 55 episodes of TMS in June, July into August. Yet 6 weeks later, my symptoms are back with a vengeance. I do believe ketamine, ECT and hospitalization are my only options

Thank you!! Excellent analysis. Mental illness is widely misunderstood and the Lindsay Clancy case has shed light on this gap in public knowledge. We need more education on mental health and more access to effective treatments. I was a perfectly healthy high functioning 36 year old 12 years ago that developed severe rapid onset of harm OCD during my second pregnancy. It was life altering terrifying experience, and I felt as though my brain had been hijacked and nothing I did on my own helped. It wasn’t until I was able to get very expensive Exposure and Response Prevention treatment and psychiatric care that I improved.

I’m so sorry for this horrific tragedy. I couldn’t watch it at first. Appropriate mental health care is so important. People so often slip through the cracks. I believe in this case she is guilty by reason of insanity. I pray the family can find some type of peace.
