I woke up to it on satellite news. I grew up on Guam, which was fourteen to fifteen hours ahead. Later that day, my history teach put it on tv for everyone for the entirety of the class. Later, when George W declared war on Iraq and Afghanistan, our PE teacher stopped class and brought us into his office to listen to it on the radio.

I thought it was an accident, and remember thinking "wow those pilots are terrible, how do you not see the skyscraper?". then I thought "sucks, but not a problem for me here in Kentucky". then we lost 2 soldiers from my 1 square mile hometown in the war that followed, one being my older brother. then i found out how deeply it would effect me. that was the beginning of a very very very very dark road for me, I just didn't know it then. 3rd grade me was oblivious.

every class had a tv in the corner for morning announcements, that stuff was on all day in every room. they even wheeled the TVs on carts into the cafeteria so we didn't miss a moment.

We alrdy had our tv out cause we watched the news every morning in my class. We watched it live and we thought it was an accident then the others happened..

I’m a mid millennial, when it happened there was more talk in our elementary school than TVs on. After everything happened the principal came on the intercom to notify everyone & a moment of silence. No we didn’t get out of school
