@savannaschwartz: Passion vines spread very quickly through their roots! This is the third year this vine has come back in my garden and it has now fully covered the perimeter of the fence…. Which was my goal, but I didn’t think about how much weeding I would have to do to keep them from suffocating my veggies. They also shade the areas close to the fence, cutting down on my surface area for other plants. I still love passion fruit, just wishing I would’ve planted it somewhere else! #foraging #ediblewildplants #passionfruit #homestead
I have a passionflower vine i got in like February/march and not a SINGLE flower despite how big it’s gotten 😭 i dunno if it’s me, if it’s what i’m feeding it of what

before you plant, make sure it isn't considered invasive in your region:)

I didn’t know about making tea with these. I mistakenly planted maypop not knowing how invasive it was and how the fruit doesn’t ripen in zone 6b, at least not for me. Thanks for the tea tip!

So are the ones that grew in the fields in Georgia the same ones that make passion fruit? We always popped them when small and green, so I never saw one fully developed. I feel like if they made fruit, my elders would've known about it though.

its also a host for 4 different kinds of butterfly and the humming birds love it. I had a little regret after planting my 2 at first but then my first humming bird came and then all the butterflys starting hatching and now their totally work the little extra.

Mine has been in the ground for over 2 years and it just won’t take off - I want a monstrous wall of Passionvine! They’re native here too, so I’m hoping year 3 will be my year 🤞

Do they die off in the winter time and go brown like a lot of other vines in the winter time?
