Not to mention this is an Apple device for Apple users that want a fold. Apple users don’t want Android phones. Android users need to get that through their head.

To put it simple imagine display as a dish. It contains ingredients that everyone has and everyone can use. Apple is a cook that combined them to make a dish, but Apple only has a small kitchen that can’t mass produce it. So Apple goes to Samsung, gives them the recipe and Samsung manufacturers

“samsung did it first, it’s samsung’s screen” no one saying ts understands these phones lmao. samsung makes it according to apple’s design, and every company making foldables has a diff design/mechanism. apple’s design isn’t what samsung uses and samsung’s design isn’t what huawei uses and the list goes on. they’re all very different, the literal only similarity is the fact it folds. and if we’re completely honest the iphone 6 did it first

Calm down people, he’s right, everyone wins! The Z Fold 9 will be way better because of the Duo. And the Duo wouldn’t be this nice out of the gate if Samsung hadn’t shown Apple what doesn’t work. Don’t worry Samsung nerds, only 10 more months and you too can have stereo sound when unfolded! 😘

I see it more as adding another option to the lineup than “copying”, the market wants foldables and when designs are inherently limited by what the product needs to be, similarities are inevitable. It’s like saying one automaker copied another just because they added a truck to their lineup

Samsung Display does R&D and creates the technology and they markets it for companies like Apple. Apple then has to buy the display tech that Samsung Display has already created. Samsung can not come up with something that they did not reach up to just because a business client like Apple wants to.

When it comes to apples matte display, it's pretty silly. Alot of the time black wont look as black, you lose some contrast, and brightness doesnt look as bright. You should compare the outer display to the inner display. They should have simply used something like Anti glare glass Samsung used

But it’s more to it than that. Apple designs what they want in the screen. In other words, how it functions, you know, compatible with their stuff. It’s not just a screen that Samsung display made for them from their own blueprints. It’s like the M series chip they designed in Taiwan makes it.
