@tifftpham: Bareburger has been named a 2026 Savor Honoree for Excellence in Hamburger in Manhattan. Euripides Pelekanos' parents arrived from Cyprus as refugees in 1974. He was stocking sodas in a Queens deli at twelve and teaching social studies before he opened anything at all. Bareburger then grew to close to fifty restaurants, from Santa Monica to Japan, Germany, Dubai and Toronto. The Supreme Burger's origin story, which he introduces by saying "I'm embarrassed to tell you this story": closing his Brooklyn bar at five in the morning, a McDonald's on the way home, four cheeseburgers and a large fries, and a Diet Coke. Then he would open every cheeseburger and stuff it with the fries, and work an onion ring in there too. That is now on the menu.
