apparently since a lot of planes had to go down at random stops a lot of places including broad way and newfoundland their people took all the Americans in fed and gave them a place to stay for days for free

So what happened is that America saw this tragedy abt the twin towers and knew that it was a target from a tourist/hajackers and decided to say that this country is closed NOBODY can enter anymore so then Newfoundland decided to take everybody in even though they were the most unknown people (Newfoundland gander) (new found land and Labrador)
