@starwalkapp: What happens when three objects in space pull on each other with gravity? 🌌 Their movements can get surprisingly complicated! This is the “three-body problem”: if we know where three objects are and how fast they’re moving, can we predict where they’ll go next? With two objects, calculating their orbits is much simpler. Add a third, and there’s no single simple formula that works for every case. Tiny changes in their starting positions or speeds can lead to very different paths. Scientists use computer simulations to explore how they move. This video shows some examples of these dynamic movements. Some repeat, while others become chaotic.
