Just the Muppets in general. It drives me up a wall that they own the rights to them but don’t do anything with them. They’re so hell bent on doing live action remakes? Fine. Do Muppet ones. Muppet Beauty and the Beast. Muppet Snow White. Muppet Lord of the freaking Rings! I know they don’t own Tolkien but you get my point Something! Anything! Put a half decent comedian and a good writer to work on the scripts for any of that and they might as well be printing money. But instead… 😐

i do not understand what’s so hard for them to understand to redo the muppet show. The blueprint is already there! Do the freaking muppet show???? A guest host, music, skits! Wanna do a movie? Retell a classic! Muppets version of anything is the best version. Give us another season of the damn the muppets office series. More electric mayhem. Every single freaking muppet movie is about how no one cares about the muppets and in the end there’s so many people that actually care about them because that is real life! Disney loves and hates the muppets it’s so obvious to them that if they put muppet anything it will sell out, we will watch the show. What’s so hard to understand?!

it's because it's already live action lol. But honestly yeah kinda. They tweak and make live action reboots for movies (over simplification obvs), and Marvel or Star Wars for their shows. Muppets doesn't fall into either of those categories. Too real already for a remake, not entrenched enough for a multi spin off shows. Beloved, but not safe (as the last show was not a success at the time). Nastolgic, but no (perceived) major merch market to tap. Most fans are older, so minimal young/child market to pander toys to. Just rebooting the Muppet Show as it originally was would be good, successful to a degree, but they are probably struggling on how to pivot it to being saleable to children at stores.

The special even did add something new that worked; a surprise cameo in the audience! There's your modern twist on the premise! You don't need to brainstorm anymore! You're done just greenlight the damn thing!
