@logan.lakos: šFor anybody new here, I tore my ACL and meniscus earlier this summer playing soccer and had surgery 6 weeks ago. Because of the meniscus repair, I spent basically up until now completely non-weight bearing And now⦠weāre walking š¶āāļøš This is a HUGE accomplishment for me. Itās definitely not pretty yet. My leg is still really weak, my gait needs work, and you can probably see the little limp in this video. Iāll still grab one crutch if my leg gets tired, but every day Iām trying to rely on it less Thereās also a little debate around how long you should keep wearing the brace. For me, Iām trying to find the balance between protecting my knee and not becoming dependent on it𦿠Around the house Iām practicing walking, doing stairs, and moving around without it. But anytime I leave the house, Iām still wearing it. Right now Iād rather have that extra protection than risk one weird step or twist. Iāve put way too much work into this recovery already to risk setting myself back by something silly happening before Iām strong enough I think one of the biggest things Iāve learned so far is how much of ACL recovery is just patience. You spend weeks wanting to move forward faster than your body is ready for, and then eventually the little things you used to take for granted start feeling like huge wins Six weeks ago I couldnāt put my foot on the ground Today I walked to the end of the driveway and back⦠Weāre getting there šŖšÆ If youāre going through something similar, feel free to DM me anytime. Always happy to share what Iāve learned along the way š«¶ #aclrecovery #acl #recovery #walking #progress
