nostalgia comes from repetition. that house on your block with the same Halloween decor they put out every single year. or your grandma who uses the same bowl every holiday. people are obsessed with nostalgia because it doesn't exist anymore with consumerism. if you are buying new decor every single year for every holiday you are loosing the nostalgia.
