I froze. Someone had knocked on the bathroom door. I turned off the water. “Hello?” Nothing. I slowly opened the shower curtain. Nobody was there. ⸻ I turned the water back on. The mirror was completely fogged up… except for one small area. Someone had wiped four words into the steam: “DON’T LOOK BEHIND YOU.” I stood completely still. Then I heard breathing. Right behind the shower curtain. ⸻ I grabbed the curtain and ripped it open. Nothing. I checked the bathroom. Nothing. I grabbed my phone. Another message from my mom: “Don’t come downstairs.” I typed: “Why?” She replied: “Because I’m watching the security camera.” Then: “Someone is standing outside your bathroom.” ⸻ I looked at the door. The handle slowly moved down. I backed away. Then my phone buzzed again. My mom: “Wait.” Another message: “I can see the person now.” Then: “It’s you.” I stared at the message. Another notification appeared. SECURITY CAMERA — MOTION DETECTED LOCATION: BATHROOM I looked at the mirror. My reflection was still standing in the shower. But I was standing outside it.
