nta just because he suggested it doesn't mean he should be financially responsible. people need to understand even if it's a family member there's a chance that when you ask something they're going to say no. he did seem just a smidge rude on judging her for just simply asking for help but just slightly

Ngl something doesn’t sit right with me from the OP. No he’s not obligated to help but it sounds like he’s making bare bones excuses somehow. That said she should take him up on the offers he did make because little things add up even if not the way she’d like.
