The manga began serializaliton in 2001 in the weekly magazine *Weekly Shōnen Jump*, while the anime premiered in Japan in 2004. Althought the manga has concluded, the final arc of the anime series is still in production and is expected to wrap up in 2020; new episodes are still being released. The story follows the adventures of a high school boy named Ichigo Kurosaki. He has the unique ability to see what are knows as "ghosts". One day, he meets a "Shinigami" (Soul Reaper) named Rukia Kuchiki, who saves him from a massive supernatural creature called a "Hollow". Hollows are lost souls. The role of the Shinigami is to liberate these souls by slaying or sealing them with their swords, known as "Zanpakutō". Each Zanpakutō is unique, to its owner, possessing distinct abilities and characteristics. A Shinigami’s power is measured by what is called "spiritual pressure". By liberating these souls, Shinigami send them to the "Soul Society"—a realm situated between heaven and hell. Ichigo Kurosaki befriends Rukia Kuchiki and eventually becomes a Shinigami himself, and we follows his adventures thoughout both the manga and the anime! (P.S. It’s a true masterpeace) (P.S.2. These characters are really handsome… all of them.) - @nhir1252
