Gingerfoot Garden finally grew some ginger. 🙌🏽 After two attempts, I finally nailed it down. I think. I hope so. 😂😂😂 Growing Ginger Tips: * Pick some ginger that looked fresh with very little to no bruising. Cut the sprouting pieces and let that heal for a day or two before burying in the soil. * After planting them, keep the soil moist (but not soggy) and place it under a heat mat or by your grow light setup to provide it some heat. * Find out when is the first frost in your zone and count back to 10 months. That should tell you when to start them indoors. * Plant them in a wide container. The rhizomes spreads outward and not downward. It could benefit from a wider as opposed to deeper containers. * Grow them in a loose well draining soil or compost. * I prefer going by the number of months for harvesting cues but yellowing leaves and flowers are also indicators that they’re ready for harvest. * The leaves and stems are edible.
