So one country will just invite almost an entire continent for a summit to discuss Africa's development? If it's not China inviting African leaders to a summit, it's Russia. If it's not Russia, it's America or the European Union! And my question is, after all these years of speeches, promises and handshakes, what exactly has changed for ordinary Africans? At the Russia–Africa Summit in Moscow, President Vladimir Putin accused Western countries of trapping Africa in debt through expensive loans while presenting Russia as a partner helping to reduce that burden. Every major power claims it wants to help Africa develop. They promise investment, infrastructure, industrialisation and job creation. And yes, some partnerships have produced results. But how many agreements have actually translated into sustainable jobs and better living conditions? And here is what I find particularly interesting. Africa already has the African Union, Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area. So why can't our leaders come together around a few common development priorities and negotiate with these global powers from that position? Because Africa does not lack resources, talent or development ambitions. What we need is stronger coordination and implementation. I'm not against international partnerships. But partnerships should serve clearly defined African priorities, not simply produce another round of speeches and photographs. Because the real measure of a successful summit is not how many agreements are signed, but how many promises are fulfilled. And perhaps it's time we stopped asking which global power is Africa's best friend and started asking what Africa is actually gaining from these relationships. #russia #africa #africanunion #panafricanism @Nasang 🇨🇲 🌎 @𝐊el 𝐎fficial @Manie Rupert @PanAfricPulse @Frances Cordoms @Telitely @Nil @Francis @@Nick-hero @Sènatòr MENSAH
