banjarbaru dengan segala kenangannya..#banjarbaru
For years, my solution was simple: keep moving. Stay busy. Focus on the next thing. Don’t think too much about what happened. Don’t sit in the pain. Don’t look too closely at the damage. Looking back felt pointless. What was done was done, right? The problem is that when you’re constantly trying to outrun the hurt, you’re usually outrunning the lessons too. Lately I’ve found myself reflecting on things I never wanted to reflect on before. Conversations. Decisions. Reactions. The ways my own unhealed wounds affected people I loved. That’s not an easy place to be. It’s been so painful. There have been moments where I’ve thought, “If I had been the version of myself I am today, would things have turned out differently?” Honestly, that’s a painful question. Seeing your own mistakes clearly hurts. Realizing your actions contributed to someone else’s pain hurts. Recognizing that some situations weren’t entirely someone else’s fault hurts. Nobody talks enough about that part of healing. Everyone talks about peace and freedom and growth. Very few people talk about the grief that comes from seeing things clearly for the first time. The beautiful thing is that God isn’t surprised by any of it. He already knew every mistake, every poor decision, every wound, every lesson I would learn years later. Nothing catches Him off guard. I can’t go back and become the person I wish I had been sooner. What I can do is thank God for opening my eyes now. Regret can either keep you stuck in the past or teach you something that changes your future. I’m choosing to believe there was purpose in all of it. Even this. Even the things I wish had happened differently. Even the parts of my story that still hurt to think about to this very moment. ❤️
