Luke Watson went to Dale College and then to Selbourne. Also sport is about having discipline.

The worst thing happening in SA is that people want to bring politics into sport. Politics only devide and destroy that exact spirit of the game.😏

You are generalizing terribly; perhaps it’s a problem up north but down here in the south, it doesn’t work that way—I promise you.

its the same for everyone, it is a melting pot. when a Afrikaans guy go work in the mines or serve in any public service like the police , he would need to adapt to the culture there.

This is a good chat as James Small and Mark Andrews had a similar sentiment that as an English speaking white how had for them it was hard to fit in. It's not a coincidence that boys who come from Border and EP rugby region get lost along the way to professional rugby as they just don't fit in the culture of rugby which is Afrikaans dominated. Look at how a guy like Sanele Nohamba was mistreated by Jacque Fourie and Rassie even though he was the URC SA player of the tournament because he didn't fit the mould of what they want

schools play a big role, if you are in a structured school where you are still afraid to visit the principal and you respect your teachers, you are often easier to listen to coaches and respecting your team mates. Discipline! like you said, most Afrikaans boys are raised very military, listen, don't talk back, work hard! As a coach and a person that have worked in rural and modern schools, there are rural schools where the structure and Discipline is better than private or normal government schools?!? And hear me out, if our soccer schools get the Discipline, respect aspect, they will also start performing. our Protea Netball girls, displays it as well!!!

some coaches also don't gad if u work hard at practice u still won't get selected,if u do u will get neglected.because they alr know the ability of their favorites ,so they don't plan on making any changes if they ever do it's due to injury and its a low chance of it being the fit hard worker. If you get your opportunity use it and go all out

your statement has some relevance but I think that all cultures in South Africa find themselves to be absolutely the thing that makes us who we are today... South Africa is diverse and we all have situations to adapt to because of our cultures..That makes us South Africans .. I don't think the rest of the world would be capable of achieving what we already are achieving as a united and hard working country...
