my 2yo and 6yo girls are like that they don't speak in normal tone of voice everything is in the whingy wingy tone and it just grates on me.. not everything needs said in whingy way 💀

been there😳. here's what we did. 1. 'insert unwelcome speech' 2. parent, 'dont speak to me like that, using that tone, with those words. 3. parent: 'you need to speak like this, using these words, because what you said was 'whiney,rude,overly focused on yourself, hard on the ears, etv' 4. 'rephrase the child's statement' 5. now: repeat that back to just like I said it, or you can go and sit in the hallway for 5 minutes and try this interaction again
