cause of the heat of the sun during the day there's more gas than the liquid. So at night apparently your supposed to get gas at night for more actually gas

Gas pumps measure a gallon by volume milk jugs also measure a gallon by volume. This makes the difference and weight meaningless milk jugs are slightly larger than a gallon by volume to allow for air and room for the liquid to shift during transport however that being the case, it should still fill about 90% of the jug

People have been filling mower gas jugs for years and this has never been an issue. One viral video of someone supposedly seeing this result means nothing. Pumps are regularly tested and it is a major fine if they aren't calibrated correctly.
