@catekettner: I NEVER THOUGHT 1,000 FOLLOWERS WOULD MEAN THIS MUCH TO ME… 🥹❤️ But this isn’t really about hitting 1,000 followers. It’s about what that number represents. 60 DAYS. 60 full days of showing up, creating content, learning, experimenting, failing, trying again, and refusing to give up. Two months ago, I started a program that promised me that if I followed it exactly as instructed, I would gain 1,000 followers in ONE WEEK. Well… that didn’t happen. 😂 It took me 60 days. And just a few days ago, I had a video go mega viral with almost 34,000 views… and I was STILL sitting there trying to find the final 25 people I needed to reach 1,000. 🤣 Then something happened that honestly made me emotional. A dear friend and former client of mine—who now lives across the country—had her husband follow me so that HE could be my 1,000th follower. ❤️ And somehow, that made this milestone even more special. Because this number represents the beginning of something I have been praying about for a LONG time. After 21 years as a professional hairstylist, my body has reached a point where I simply cannot continue working 50–60 hours a week behind the chair and expecting it not to take a toll. I am incredibly proud of the career I built. Before COVID, I was at the top of my game. I was nominated for countless awards, won awards in my industry, worked on incredible projects, created content for major beauty brands, and built a name for myself doing something I was genuinely gifted at. I am an AMAZING hairdresser. But here’s the hard truth: I don’t want to do hair anymore. COVID changed the trajectory of my career when the job I loved was deemed “non-essential” and I was laid off from what had been my dream job. I never really found my way back to where I was before. Instead, I had no other option but to take jobs that paid very little while demanding more and more from my body and my mental health. And somewhere along the way, I realized… I don’t want to spend the rest of my life destroying my body just to make a living. So I’m building something new. Something that allows me to work from home. Create my own schedule. Use the gifts God has given me. Create beauty, fashion, lifestyle and UGC content. Work with brands. Build a business around CONTENT CREATION. And hopefully create a life that gives my body the rest it desperately needs. And now, reaching 1,000 followers means I can finally start opening some of those doors. This isn’t just about TikTok. It’s about building my full-time content creation business, growing my platforms, creating UGC for brands, pursuing brand partnerships, affiliate opportunities, TikTok Shop, and creating a completely different kind of career for myself. And yes… I have a BIG announcement coming on this account very soon. 👀❤️ Because if you’ve followed me for years, you know that I am an OG Instagram girl. 😂 I joined Instagram when it first came out. I built my community there. I created, connected, shared my life and built a following long before TikTok was even a thing. So this chapter feels especially meaningful. I’m praying that this is the beginning of the right doors opening at exactly the right time. That God will put the right people, brands, opportunities and connections in my path. That I can continue using the talents He gave me—but in a way that allows my body to finally REST. It represents rebuilding. It represents believing that I can create a career that works
