@Tiberius Caesar:Well, if there's been a breakdown and the jury's selection process, it needs to be thoroughly investigated, including the histories of all of the other jurors! There's no telling what else they could have missed. Due diligence requires that they investigate everyone that went through that same process to ensure it didn't happen with any other jurors. And is not happening going forward. But something tells me they were perfectly aware of every juror's disclosed or undisclosed history. It doesn't pass the laugh test that they never ran a simple traffic stop level background check on the jurors. I suspect that allowing jurors in that they know have things in their past in the jury gives them leverage. It certainly seems to be in this case of a juror that voted in a way they didn't like! and if they go after him for it, without investigating, if it's true of all the other jurors, it's a case of selective prosecution. If the State has a little bit of dirt on the jurors they can pretend "Oh, look what we just discovered about you." If you ever get out of line. What if there's a little something something in the background of all the jurors they let on? Because they deliberately selected for people leaving tiny things out. There's plenty of people in any jury application pool that lies trying to get on the jury! So what if they let only people that left things out of their history on the jury? One way to find out is look at the rest of the jury's background.
