With the care companies iv worked for they wouldn’t even bother to look in to they would just sack you on the spot . I always refuse anything from service users because of this reason

The home I worked in we weren't even allowed to accept Christians gifts biscuits, chocolates etc. The carer was in the wrong taking the money and not reporting it to the care company. I would have taken it straight to my manager and made sure it was kept safe and documented.

This is why you always put it back when they’re not looking and report that she tried to do this otherwise you could get fired when they forget they gave you it and you get accused of stealing it

I will never forget this! Someone gave me money, and I put it straight back and reported it. Then the white lady lied and said I took her money. That was the day I realised I had to step back, because they will always take their side.
